​Loretta Ramirez is Associate Professor of Latinx Rhetoric & Composition and Chair of the Chicano & Latino Studies Department at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). ​Prior to her current teaching position, Loretta taught at CSULB as a lecturer in the Art History department. Her teaching history also includes contributing to various English departments at the University of California, Irvine; Marymount California University; and El Camino Community College.

Loretta's teaching areas include the following: 
History of Rhetoric; Multimodal Rhetorics and Art History Cultural Rhetorics; Methodologies in Historical Rhetorical Reclamation Archival Projects; Latinx, Chicana, American, Children Literature; Autobiography as Autoethnography; Ethnic Identity and Self-Representation Strategies; Creative Writing; Composition; Critical Thinking and Research
